Ouch.

You need to push yourself well outside your comfort zone, repeatedly, and against your instincts to play where its safe. That’s gonna take a toll on your ego, at a time when you need confidence the most.

But if its hurting, then you’re learning (as long as you continue to reflect and internalise).

Example

For a long time you’ve had a life rule that states if you want to say yes, but you’re scared of the pain, then you MUST say yes.

This comes from your experience playing music. The first time you were asked to play keys in a band, you were going to say no, but then at the last minute you had a unsuspecting burst of courage and said yes. That ‘yes’ changed everything.

Now you have performed as part of an ARIA nominated bad, and every year you tour across Europe playing fun festivals to crowds of many thousands.

That ‘yes’ lead to some of the happiest memories your have and your closest friendships.

This is the next level version of that same rule. Except instead of waiting to be asked, to say yes, you are pushing yourself into the spaces that lead to the same growth.

So What Now?

You’re going to learn a new skill called Sales. You’re going to throw yourself into sales conversations, and you’re going to suck at first and it will hurt. But you’ll get better, and better and eventually, you’ll suck less, and maybe even get good at it. But ONLY if you force yourself to do it. The more you do it, the faster you’ll grow. Lets get stuck in….
